Objective of Turf Ball:
Score more goals than your opposition team.

Gameplay:
- Each team is allowed to have a maximum of 12 people, with 7 people playing at one time.
- Teams are allowed to have one goalie standing inside the shooting circle. This isn't a requirement and the goalie can be interchangeable at any stage of the game. E.g. a team can choose to have no one inside the shooting circle if they wish.
- Games are 26 minutes long. This consists of two 12 minute halves, with 2 minutes for halftime.
- Play begins with both teams starting on their own goal lines.
- Winning team from coin toss begins with the ball in hand and play begins.
- Teams must get the ball from their own goal line to the other end of the field and shoot into the oppositions goal in order to score a point.
- Players are allowed to run with the ball in hand and can pass any direction they wish.
- Players can only run with the ball in hand for 3 seconds. At this point players must then pass, shoot, or bounce the ball on the ground.
- If a player bounces the ball on the ground they are allowed a maximum of 3 more seconds to run with the ball. At this point they must then pass or shoot the ball e.g. you cannot bounce the ball again.
- Players can substitute at any stage of the game.
- The player leaving the field must be off the field before the replacement player steps onto the field.

Attacking:
- On attack, players are able to run with the ball for 3 seconds at a time.
- The ball can be passed forwards or backwards.
- To score a point, teams must shoot the ball into the oppositions goal.
- A shot must be taken from behind the shooting circle.
- Any shot taken inside the shooting circle will NOT count and the ball will be turned over.
- A missed shot will result in an automatic turnover.
- If a player shoots the ball, and it deflects off the goalie and goes into the goal, the goal counts as a point.
- Once a goal is scored, the ball is turned over to the opposite team where play begins straight away from their goal line.
- After a goal is scored, the scoring team must retreat behind the halfway line before they are allowed to defend.

Defending:
- On defence, teams are allowed to have ONE goalie who stands inside the shooting circle. All other players must be outside of the shooting circle.
- It is not compulsory to always have someone standing inside the shooting circle acting as a goalie.
- To defend, players are allowed to intercept the ball.
- No contact is allowed, if contact is spotted by the referee there will be a punishment chosen by the acting referee of either a warning, penalty or a send off.
- A penalty results in the defending player standing down for 10 seconds of play.
- A send off results in the team having one member short for 60 seconds of play with the penalised player being substituted off for 5 minutes (e.g. the team plays with 6 players for 60 seconds, then a new player can come on for 4 minutes. After this period of time, the penalised player then has the opportunity to substitute back onto the field).
- If teams only have 7 players and one players gets sent off, that team will have to go without one player for 5 minutes.

Payment:
- The cost per team to play Turf Ball is $50 per week or $500 for the whole 10 week competition. For a team of 12 players this is $4.17 per player, and for a team of 7 players this is $7.15 per player.
- It is requested that teams pay for the 10 week competition in advance in order to ease the process of organising weekly draws.
- An incentive is offered to teams who prepay the full 10 week competition of receiving their first game free (e.g. payment is $450 for a team for the 10 week competition as opposed to $500).
- Teams can enter the competition late if they wish however the cutoff date is that teams must be registered by the end of round 3 (INSERT DATE).
- Weekly payments of $50 must be received in full by ONE chosen member of the team. This can be received on the night in cash or alternatively can be paid through online banking prior to playing the game. In order to allow for processing please pay two working days before game day.

Refund Policies:
- A refund will not be given to a team if the team can simply not show up.
- Teams who cannot play for the week must give 24 hours notice in order to give enough time to reschedule a game against another team.
- If a team wishes to pull out of a competition then the following rule applies: if the competition has only gone on for 3 weeks (i.e. they have played 3 games) then money will be refunded for the remainder 7 games. However if the competition has gone for 4 weeks (i.e. they have played 4 games) then money will not be refunded. This is due to costs being paid for the competition already which cannot be recovered post round 4 as well as draws being finalised.

Competition Points:
- Results will be recorded each game with the following:
- 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 0 points for a loss.
- A competition table will be available for viewing each week throughout the competition for teams to see where they sit on the competition ladder.
- The two teams who have the highest points over the 10 week competition will proceed to the final. All other teams will play a 'fun' game in week 11 against another team. This week will be free for everyone.
- In the event of a tie at the end of the 10 week competition, the teams who proceed to the final will be decided based upon the following criteria, in order of:
- highest number of games won.
- who won in round robin games (e.g. if Team A won against Team B in the round robin games then Team A will proceed through to the final).
- highest number of total goals scored.
- fewest number of total goals scored against own team.
- if teams are still tied at this point then a coin toss will decide who proceeds through to the final.
